happy Sunday to y'all ...

I don't know if this is ok for this Forum to mention (and praise) other 3rd party software but ... I'll do it anyway.

I am sure lots (all?) of you know Veloreality ... I use their software and films since some time.

Now they offer a new streaming feature for their films and I gave it a try (the for-free - version) ...

I don't want to advertise their products here but I will take them as a good example how Tacx should have realized the change from TS to their new software platform ... and make life much more easier for all their customer like us ...

In the veloreality software (which is pretty good, pretty simple and comes for free!) all my local videos and all the new streaming - videos are neatly combined in one clear list of rides without any difference so that I can choose which one I will use without having to look for it in some folders or places and change any settings or whatever ...

Well, I will not go any further with the praise of the software ... of course it will not solve any of the issues we have with the TTS and the RLV ... but for me it is just a good example how easy life could have been when Tacx really wanted to support their old stuff ...

Ok, I am no software specialist so there might be any technical issues I cannot see and judge, but hey ... it couldn't be that hard!

So, sorry for the long text ... may english is not good enought to make it shorter ! :D

As I said ... have a good sunday!

It is fine mentioning software you like/use (Don't do it again   ) All platforms have relevance.. and a lot of us still have/use TTS with huge collections of RLV's (although i run mine from HD storage).

TDA has streaming and search and filters which work really well (bit of fine tuning they'll be perfecto) TTA mobile not quite so good (but should get there)

Plus i think mainly quality of the films content wise and display wise that i personally find appealing.

Not Zwift lover but ROUVY appeals after using few times..

Kostya will be very happy to hear your views on VeloReality. It's a good platform and often doesn't receive the credit it deserves. I've only used the demos unfortunately - and that was some time ago. When it comes down to software for indoor training, I've become a hoarder :p

The Zwift Competitors I've tried
I've tried VirtuGo - which is now defunct
Real Gran Tours - I liked this alot, but hten they changed it so you can only select and change the ride using a mobile device, while you see the ride on your PC - messy if you ask me.
OneLap - Chinese interface, but I did do a ride with 5000+ other riders - it's huge over there. Graphically not as good as TTS, Zwift or RGT
TTS - I still love the VR in TTS - I have two PCs, so local multiplayer is cool
CVArcade - humphh....
Fortius - Had a lot of fun with this, creating my own high resolution textures and jerseys
Computrainer

Real Life Video
TTS - I still use as I have a great library, again local multiplayer is cool
Rouvy - dabbled, though augmented reality is cool and something Tacx were/or are considering - I think the augmented reality will really push real life video
Bkool Software
Elite Software
Maximum Trainer

If people want a sub-forum for any specific trainer software, just ask.

Thats bloody interesting, I have family in China (family in law own a very well known Italian resturant in Shanghai) the owner mailed me a week ago for a Neo but Tacx is not even sold in China.. I wonder if they could do a Ant+ open version of the apps & PC software with a local server for the Chinease market?

Also liked Road Grand Tours original desktop BETA which still worked a couple weeks ago with the caveat that since the change to the mobile app, I no longer 'see' any other riders on Cap Formentor. I also have monthly subscriptions for BigRingVr and Rouvy, and lately have been using the new Rouvy AR BETA.

Alright, do tell. Exactly how are you still able to use local multiplayer since TTS became unsupported. Is this a by-product of the fact that the Tacx license servers are temporarily back on-line?

You can buy a smart trainer from Magene build in China.

I tried to register me for OneLap, but it runs only with chinese adress or chinese mobile number. But they have an english version of OneLap.

well, mainly my intention was to show a good example for the combination of locally stored videos and streaming videos in one single software application.

When Tacx had been able to give me the possibility to use my old RLVs ( I now still use very happily with TTS4) and the new subscription streaming videos together in one single software I would not hesitate for a minute to subscribe... but that was never the intention of Tacx I think when they started their new TDA / subscription system.

So I am guessing this is a by-product of Tacx turning the license servers back on for bit. I will also try it tonight, and this weekend will see if I can find time to trace the network exchange with the Tacx server to see what payloads are exchanged.

Cheers for the name but they do not sell Tacx sadly.

I did bring over all of the best films (other then the Ironmans), just now Im actually remastering many of those older TTS4 films like the ones in Gascony, Corsica, the DVD length films of the Dordogne & that other one near Lyon with the Vinyards & hills even the Marmotte in 4K using quite a PC hungry special filter they use for films. They look fab! In theory I can bring over any film in TTS4 to the TDA collection if the quality is good enough, but obviously its always best of all to try to refilm in higher quality. Just now a subscription will get you access to just over 200 rides. Tacx could have done something early on when they still wereselling the DVDs etc but I think it would have added complexity to it which they did not want, they want super easy & simple, & thats ok.

we all know that your videos are really outstanding and I still enjoy even the older ones with my TTS4. And as much as I like the idea of getting new high quality films all the time for a reasonable price in TDA I am still not willing to dismiss all my good old RLVs for which I gave a lot of money to Tacx back in those days ... but maybe one day ... :?:

Blueberry thanks for your kind words. We actually not planing any change. Just adding more options on how you can get to videos. And yes it is very simple. No need to f.. around. Just click on video in list and off you go. The software will automatically select the best option (local higher quality if you bought it or stream one from the cloud)
