Tacx have been producing indoor trainers for many many years. Over the years, the trainers have become more accurate in terms of power and sophisticated. In line with the innovations made with the trainers, the software has evolved, graphics have improved and data become more diverse and available. In the past only professional riders would be interested in riding to heart rate and cadence zones.
But as the hardware and software has become more available, even the most IT illiterate recreational cyclist can analyse their power outputs, ride within their zones and create baselines to mark improvements in their performance.
As the software has changed, so has the content we use. Real Life Videos (RLV) that were created several years ago, won’t work in the newer versions of the software. However, with just a file or two these can be made to work, these can be found on the Old RLV TTS files area.
Most indoor cyclists love riding these RLVs, experiencing the same roads as the professional races. Imagine riding your favourite road, whether local club runs or those faraway roads you dream of riding. A lot of riders do and create their own personal RLVs. A number of these are available for free on the Custom RLV area – all of which are made available for everyone to enjoy with kind permission of their creators.
