We spent a leisurely day today walking the streets of Karachi and visiting some of the famous historic sites. The most notable was the mausoleum of the country’s founder Quaid-e-Azam. It is a lovely white marble modern structure, situated on a slight hill, with four large gates at each point of the compass.

We also visited the Frere Hall, a church-converted city library, surrounded by beautiful gardens, an oasis of calm in the middle of the noisy, bustling city. The rest of the day we spent in the local bazaar, bustling with peddlars and stalls, selling all sorts of wares from live birds to nuts to saris!
