With less than 60 days to go we have been extremely busy! There is still so much to do on the route, visas, jabs, and equipment planning, and we have been trying to raise the profile of the event to boost charity donations… And of course, training, training, and more training. And then in our spare time…..more training!

Here are some key stats to date:

Total training distance – 400 miles
Number of falls / tumbles – 10+ each (no permanent damage thankfully other than to our dignity – which we abandoned at the shop when we collected the bikes anyway)
Number of bruises – Too many to count
Number of tantrums – 1 (Sedef after a steep climb having lost sight of Nic after he raced ahead, then finding out that he took the nice easy path around the bottom of the hill)
Number of ‘Delhi bellies’ – 1 (Nic after wolfing down a dodgy kebab in 1 minute)
Number of recumbents broken – 1 (Sedef at the JP Morgan gym. Don’t tell anyone as they haven’t noticed yet!)
Top speed – 40 miles per hour (Nic – nutter)
Charity donations – £250 (come on everyone, that’s REALLY pathetic!!)
Jabs received – 2 (12 more to go!)
